Wonton soup

Wonton Soup is really easy to make and is a great use for leftover Gyoza wrappers that you might otherwise not be sure how to use. This is a perfect soup for cold winter!

Ingredients
  

Wonton

  • 10 slices gyoza wrappers
  • 50 g ground meat (pork, chicken or beef) your choice of meat
  • 1 scallion (green onion)

Soup

  • 500 ml water
  • 2 teaspoon torigara soup base HERE to buy
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 scallion (green onion)

Topping

  • freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut green onion into small pieces for mixture.
  • Cut green onion into 1 inch (2.54cm) long for soup.
  • In a bowl, add ground meat, the cut green onion, and salt. Mix well.
  • Mince the ginger.

Wonton

  • Prepare gyoza wrappers and put some water in a bowl.
  • Add the mixture in the middle of gyoza wrapper. The filling should be 0.4 inches (about 1 cm) thick.
  • Put water on the sides of the wrapper and fold it in half. Do this process for all gyoza wrappers.
  • Use spoon's bottom and push the edges together in order to close well.

Wonton soup

  • In a pot, turn the heat to medium and add water, torigara soup base, and the ginger.
  • Once the soup starts boiling, turn the heat to medium low and add the wontons, and the cut green onion. Cook for 5 minutes.
