Ingredients

  • 200 g spaghetti
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 50 g mushrooms You can pick any type of mushroom. Many people mix a few mushrooms to make this dish. This time, I only used Cremini mushrooms!
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 Tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil I used sesame oil.
  • 1/3 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 g butter
  • 2 Tablespoon soy sauce HERE to buy
  • 2 Tablespoon pasta water Before tossing pasta water from the pot you make pasta, save some.
  • 1 teaspoon dashi powder HERE to buy
  • 1 scallion (green onion) to finish!

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bake or cook bacon before you use. I use my oven to bake bacon. Bake the bacon at 400°F (205°C) for 17-20 minutes
  • Pasta - In a medium pot, add water and salt. When it's boiling, add spaghetti and cook for about 8 minutes.
Please save 2TBSPpasta water before tossing.
  • Slice mushrooms into the size you prefer, and cut green onion into small pieces.

Let's Make Wafu Pasta - after bacon is cooked

  • Cut the bacon into 1-1.5 inches long.
  • In a medium pan, turn the heat to medium and add oil (olive oil or sesame oil) and minced garlic. Cook for a minute.
  • Add the bacon, mushrooms, our pasta water, freshly ground black pepper, butter, dashi powder, and soy sauce. Cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the pasta to the pan and stir well. Cook for 3 minutes.
  • Turn the heat off and then add the green onions and mix.

Let's eat!

  • Let's serve! This is a great lunch!
