Macaroni Salad
Ingredients
- 1 large egg(s)
- 50 g macaroni
- 1/4 spam I use spam but the classic recipe uses ham. If you prefer ham, you can replace spam with ham.
- 1/4 Persian cucumber 1/4 is about 70-80 g (Change depending on how many Serving you set)
- 1/4 large onion 1/4 is about 55-65 g (Change depending on how many Serving you set)
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 3 Tablespoon Japanese mayonnaise
- 1/3 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Preparation
- Cut onion into thin slices.
- Move the onion to a microwave safe bowl, them microwave for 90 seconds. Cool down.
- In a boiling water in a pot, add egg(s). Cook for 9 minutes.
- After 9 minutes, turn the heat off and remove the hot water in the sink. Run the cold water and remove the shelves.
Let's cook Macaroni salad!
- Cut spam into small square pieces.
- Cut cucumber thinly.*1
- In a medium sized pot, add water and salt and bring it to boil. When it's boiling add macaroni. Cook for 9 minutes.
- After 9 minutes, turn the heat off and remove the hot water in the sink. Remove the water well and move the macaroni to a medium bowl.
- Add vinegar, salt, and olive oil in the bowl and mix with the macaroni. Cool down for a few minutes. *2
- Add the cut spam, cucumber, onion, egg, sugar, and Japanese mayonnaise. Mix everything well.
- Add black pepper to finish.
Let's eat!
- This is so good as a side dish!
Notes
*1 When I use cucumber, I always soak with salt to remove moist or water from cucumber, but this time I don’t that’s because I want the cucumber to be crunchy.
*2 To mix with vinegar, oil and salt prevent not to dry or stick macaroni.
