Ingredients

- 150 g uncooked Japanese rice
- 200 ml water
marinating ingredients
- 200 g thinly sliced beef
- 2 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoon sake
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon torigara soup base
Other ingredients
- 100 g Canned corn
- 15 g unsalted butter
- scallion (green onion)
Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 Tablespoon sake
- 1 Tablespoon mirin
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Preparation
- 【rice】Add uncooked rice to your rice cooker. Wash the rice 1-2 times with running water.
- 【rice】Use a mesh strainer to remove the water and move the washed rice to your rice cooker.
- 【rice】Add water and let's cook the rice!
- In a zip lock, add all of the marinating ingredients (beef, soy sauce, sake, minced garlic, torigara soup base) and keep it in the fridge for 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, make rice. HERE is how to make rice.
- Drain the water from the canned corn. Wash and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Cut the green onion into small pieces.
Let's cook! (After rice is cooked)
- Let's make sauce. In a small bowl, add soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, and minced garlic. Mix everything.
- Use a medium or large pan, and turn the heat to medium. Add a thin layer of vegetable oil, then add the beef and cook until there is no more pink.
- Wipe with a paper towel to remove extra oil.
- Add the sauce you just made. Mix with the beef and bring to a boil once.
- Turn the heat to medium low and move the beef to the sides (Leaving an empty circle in the middle).
- Add the cooked rice in the middle. Add the corn, green onion, butter, and black pepper on top.
- Cover with a lid and cook for 3 minutes.
- After 3 minutes, turn the heat off, then mix everything lightly.
